Hello from QV

FlightPathTV

If you’re interested in aviation then you’ll be pleased to know about a great new aviation show called FlightPathTV that’s coming to TV right about now. Here in Australia the pilot episode will be screened on FoxTel Channel 183 on Sunday, 7th June at 7pm and on the Sky Documentary channel in New Zealand on Thursday, July 2nd at 5:30pm.

Fletcher and Malcolm

Fletcher McKenzie and Malcolm Clement are the brains and energy behind FlightPathTV, applying their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to produce a high quality & fun show that helps to build awareness of the passion behind aviation. Having worked together on other projects, they realised they had a common interest in aviation and believed that there was a need for a new aviation TV show.

Starting in March 2007, they have travelled around the world visiting airshows such as Avalon in Australia, Duxford in the UK and Classic Fighters in New Zealand. They have filmed the Shuttleworth collection, the Reno Air Races and have been invited to cover military exercises. In addition to the big ticket items in the aviation world, they have also visited local airports to track down interesting stories, accumulating over 200 hours of footage so far.

FlightPathTV covers all aspects of aviation and brings out the passion that is common to most aviators, from flyers of home built aircraft to the pilot of Air Force One. Their focus on quality has led to the show being selected by Air New Zealand for inclusion in their In-Flight Entertainment channels while Emirates have also expressed interest in taking it on.

Episode 11 in the first series will include a piece on Flight Experience, covering our simulator and the opportunities we can offer to members of the public. As Fletcher notes, “Flight Experience is a fantastic way to allow people to get into the cockpit of a 737-800 and experience being a commercial airliner pilot, all without leaving the ground.”

FlightPathTV Promotion

Work in the immediate future includes filming the arrival of 14 new Diamond DA40 & DA42 aircraft at Massey University’s School of Aviation in New Zealand. The team are also in discussions with Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia to film there.

Fletcher and Malcolm are also working hard at the moment to get FlightPathTV launched in Australia, New Zealand and around the world. They also have some other great new products that they’re working on in addition to FlightPathTV but we’ll have to wait for them to be unveiled. You can keep up with their latest updates on their website and through their FaceBook group. Watch this space!
