Plane Crazy Down Under podcast releases their Flight Experience interviews

During our recent Facebook Fan Open Night we had Steve & Grant from the Plane Crazy Down Under Podcast with us to fly the simulator and interview people. They managed to record some great material and it’s been included in their latest episode along with an interview with Matt Hall, Australia’s Red Bull Air Racer.

We Appear on the Plane Crazy Down Under Podcast

Recently we had Steve & Grant from the Plane Crazy Down Under Podcast visit our simulator to record a session flying around Melbourne. They also recorded an interview with Check Captain Carlo on the flight deck which has just been released. The interview segment starts just before the 40 minute mark in episode #6.

Ed after his Flight Experience

Ed Heerey, a Barrister in Melbourne, had the opportunity to experience flight as a commercial pilot after his wife bought a one hour Flight Experience package as a birthday gift for him. While Ed has never learned to fly, he first became interested in aviation thanks to his grandfather who served as an Air Force pilot and doctor in World War II, flying Fox Moths, Tiger Moths, Dragon Moths, Ansons, Lockheed Hudsons and Sunderland Flying Boats in Singapore, Malaya, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, and was repatriated to Australia with rheumatic fever just before the fall of Singapore. The closest Ed has been to flying a light aircraft was a slightly hair-raising flight with a university friend going from Moorabbin to Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles.

Interview with Instructor Dominique Cotte

Instructor Dominique

Dominique Cotte joined Flight Experience Melbourne within a month of it opening and became the first female instructor to be employed at any Flight Experience franchise around the world. Dom really enjoys working with the team, saying it feels like a big family as they all get along so well. She also says that the best thing about working with Flight Experience is seeing customers come in who have had a passion for flying since they were young but never got around to doing it. Dom says it’s really rewarding that everyone who comes in for a flight has fun and walks out with a smile on their face.

Dominique began flying when she was 16 in her home town of Albury, New South Wales. Her friends purchased an introductory flight session for her at Zauril Aviation and she was hooked. Deciding that flying was going to be her life, Dominique worked six days a week at abattoirs to build up enough money so she could go flying on her day off. Now that’s dedication indeed!
