Denis Walter of radio station 3AW came to our simulator and had a great time flying around Melbourne and Geelong with Check Captain Carlo, then went to Hong Kong to attempt the challenging landing at old Kai Tak.

The crew from Just Planes Videos spent some time at Kai Tak filming the aircraft coming & going, including the famous approach to Runway 13. They were also present for the last day of Kai Tak’s operation, capturing the final movements at one of the world’s most famous airports.

New Hong Kong Scenery
Flying the approach into runway 13 at Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong has always been an exhilarating experience. Following the ILS indicators you descend towards the famous “checker board” and, at the inner marker, turn sharply to the right along the curving line of beacon lights that lead to the runway itself. While the level of realism has been good, it’s now even better thanks to a new enhanced scenery package for the Hong Kong area.
